Reconsidering Israel and Everything Else
We must reconsider everything — our assumptions, our allegiances, our silences.
I have been reconsidering Israel. I have been reconsidering everything. I have been reconsidering the United States, capitalism, democracy, the left, the right, the center, pacifism, feminism, environmentalism, and my own life.
I think we are all going to have to reconsider everything if we are going to survive as a species on this planet. The old categories no longer serve us. The old allegiances no longer make sense.
We are in a new situation. The world has changed. The cold war is over. The Soviet Union has collapsed. The left has lost its anchor. The right has lost its enemy. We are all adrift.
In this situation, I think the most important thing we can do is to think clearly and honestly about what we really believe and what we really want. Not what we are supposed to believe. Not what our tribe believes. But what we actually think is true and good.

The Write-In Campaign
I am running for every elected office as a write-in candidate on a platform of complete social transformation.
I am running for every elected office as a write-in candidate on a platform of complete social transformation. I am not running to win. I am running to say something that needs to be said.
What needs to be said is this: the system is broken. Not just a little broken. Fundamentally, irreparably broken. The problems we face — poverty, crime, environmental destruction, war — cannot be solved within the existing framework because the existing framework is the problem.
The only solution is to start over. To hold a great national conference in which all the people participate and together design a new society from the ground up. A society based on human needs rather than profit. A society based on cooperation rather than competition.
This is not a utopian fantasy. This is a practical necessity. We have the technology, the resources, and the knowledge to create a good society for everyone. What we lack is the political will. My campaign is an attempt to create that will.

On the Transformation Party
The Transformation is a party in that people dance and play music together and discuss how to improve our world.
The Transformation Party is not a political party in the conventional sense. It is a party in the sense of a celebration — a gathering of people who want to dance and sing and talk and think together about how to make the world better.
I have been holding Transformation parties for years. They are simple events. People come together. There is music. There is food. There is conversation. The conversation is about transformation — about how we can change ourselves and our society.
The parties are open to everyone. There are no membership requirements, no dues, no ideology tests. The only requirement is a willingness to think and talk honestly about the state of the world and what we can do about it.
